The story behind our name — and our approach

The name Argonautica Private Wealth Management, Inc. is derived from the ancient Greek epic “The Argonautica” by Apollonius, which recounts the myth of Jason and the Argonauts’ quest for the coveted golden fleece. As a wise person, Jason understood that he couldn’t accomplish this difficult task alone; so with the help of the Gods, he assembled a team of mighty heroes who came to be known as the Argonauts, named for Jason’s ship, the Argo. These brave men accompany Jason on his quest to retrieve the golden fleece.

We see this ancient myth as a metaphor for the modern investment journey of our clients and of our role in their ambitious quest to achieve their financial aspirations. Jason represents our clients, setting out to obtain something of tremendous value and worth. Our team of dedicated and disciplined wealth advisors embodies the essence of the Argonauts, supporting and guiding our clients on their journey. The Argo itself symbolizes our practice: the vessel that provides the necessary structure for our clients and our team to navigate today’s dynamic financial landscape.

Argonautica Private Wealth Management is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). This means we are governed by the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and applicable state securities laws, which govern conduct and disclosure requirements, creating a high legal standard referred to as “fiduciary” duty. Fiduciary duty represents the highest degree of trust and confidence that an investment adviser will act in your best interests at all times.

Obligation

As an RIA, we have a fiduciary obligation to you. That means that any advice we give you must be exclusively in YOUR best interest. Full stop! Brokers and even hybrid advisors operate under a more complicated set of rules with more room for interpretation.

We do not hold your assets in our possession at any time. We have alliances with multiple major custodians, who are well respected and well regulated. Wells Fargo First Clearing and Schwab are two of them. They hold your assets in custody, not us.
